BIBLELORE

Introduction

 Welcome to Biblelore, a fresh look at the Holy Bible. The word "lore" means a body of knowledge, often traditional, on a given subject. The title Biblelore refers to traditional lore of the Bible, with emphasis on the truth about certain misconceptions and issues that continue to be preached by misinformed religious leaders, both Christian and Jewish.

Biblelore will address a number of these issues, including:

1) the claim of the inerrancy of the Bible as the Word of God;

2) the authorship of the first five books of the Bible, the Torah, credited to Moses;

3) the superior, scornful attitudes of Israelite priests toward worshipers of fertility gods and fire-gods, among them Baal, Asherah, Molech (Moloch) and Chemosh;

4) the myths surrounding the destruction of the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah;

5) and the sexual views, both heterosexual and homosexual, of St. Paul.

Biblelore will address first the last of these, homosexuality, in the third book of the Torah, Leviticus.
